The Future Starts Here! Groen & Boothman showcase during the Milan Design Week 2024

design exhibition milano 2024

This year we are super thrilled to be exhibiting our work at Masterly – The Dutch in Milan. An exhibition taking place during the Milan Design week, in the beautiful Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the heart of the city. Masterly showcases the best of Dutch design so we feel very honoured to be taking part. You will find us in room 15 at the palace😉

The Milan Design Week is one of the most anticipated events in the global design calendar and returns with a bang this April, to captivate audiences with vibrant displays, thought-provoking exhibitions, and groundbreaking innovations. From April 16 -21, Milan will be transformed into a veritable playground for designers, architects, and creatives from around the world. They will be showcasing the latest trends, concepts, and technologies shaping the future of design.

Our show is called The Future Starts Here! Inspired by Nature’s Intelligence, we’ll show how we are exploring new frontiers in product design with traditional design tools, algorithms and AI.

A number of our cutting edge design projects will be on display at the Milan Design Week. Including an algorithmic table, a watch concept, jewellery, and a new pendant luminaire which we designed in collaboration with Philips MyCreation.

Along side esteemed design colleagues and brands like Aectual, Claudy Jongstra, Dutch Originals, Philips MyCreation, Isamu Noguchi, Royal Delft, Zaha Hadid and many more, this year’s Masterly promises to be a veritable design feast.

Sustainability Takes Center Stage at Milan Design Week

One of the most prominent themes at the moment with designers and exhibitors is sustainability. We want to show how we can “do more with less”. The WWWave, our algorithmic table, made from 100% post-consumer waste will be part of our collection. We show you how we push the boundaries of latest circular manufacturing technologies to create unique objects of beauty with light weight constructions and geometries.

Another design of ours is the Wing Light. Developed in collaboration with Philips MyCreation. It is a futuristic multi-functional pendant luminaire which pushes the artistry of Philips MyCreation’s circular 3D printing technologies to a new level. A bold design statement with a horizontal presence, reminiscent of a winged spaceship. It offers direct down-light as well as diffused ambient light. The Wing Light will be launched on April 15th at Masterly in room #15!

Tech Meets Emotion

The cutting-edge design tools we use play a pivotal role in shaping our exhibition for Masterly 2024. Our on-going work, exploring new frontiers in product design using traditional design tools, algorithms and AI will be manifest in The Kromm Watch. It  will show for the first time to a wide audience, as well as new jewellery designs. To top it all off, we present a new jewel for the table, a flatware collection called FIUMI.

I just can’t wait!

A presto a Milano!
