From first idea to production-ready product
We design and develop physical products from early concept through to production.
Our approach brings together industrial design, engineering, materials and manufacturing from the start. We do not treat form and technology as separate phases, but develop them together as one process.
The result is a product in which appearance, function, construction and the way it is made support one another.
Design and engineering are inseparable
A product is more than its outer form.
How parts connect, how forces move through a structure, how something is assembled, manufactured or handled all influence what a product can become.
We develop these aspects together from the beginning. Form, function, construction, materials, manufacturing and cost continuously inform one another as the design develops.
Depending on the project, our work can range from product strategy and concept development to engineering, prototyping, technical detailing and production development.
From idea to physical product
Ideas become clearer when they become tangible.
We use sketches, CAD, models and prototypes to explore proportions, usability, mechanisms and construction while there is still room to change direction.
Early prototypes can be quick and exploratory. As the project develops, they become increasingly accurate, allowing details, materials, assembly and production principles to be tested and refined.
This iterative process helps the product develop as a coherent whole rather than as a sequence of separate design and engineering decisions.
Designing how
products move
Movement is often an essential part of a product — how it opens, folds, adjusts, flexes or connects.
We develop these interactions as part of the design, bringing together geometry, materials, mechanisms and construction to create movement that feels natural and works reliably.
Folding stand
Developing a controlled movement from a simple arrangement of parts.
Flexible structure
Using geometry and material behaviour to create controlled deformation from a single sheet of material.
Generated structure
An algorithmically generated inner structure designed to combine flexibility with controlled form.
Design for assembly
Exploring how individual components come together efficiently, intuitively and with as few unnecessary operations as possible.
Form follows process
We believe form becomes stronger when it grows out of the way a product works and is made.
Manufacturing processes, materials, assembly methods, tolerances and structural requirements are therefore not constraints added after the design. They are active design tools.
A moulding split, an extrusion direction, a printed structure or a simple bent component can all become part of the identity of a product.
The final result may appear simple, while a considerable amount of development sits underneath.
From prototype to production
A strong concept only becomes a successful product when it can be manufactured reliably.
As the design matures, we translate concepts into production-ready geometry, technical details and specifications. We work with manufacturers and specialist suppliers to evaluate prototypes, refine components and solve production issues.
This allows design intent, technical performance and manufacturability to develop together until the product is ready to move into production.
