Belia Hospital Room Lighting for Zumtobel

Whilst working at npk design, Joanna collaborated on designs for hospital room lighting for Zumtobel. Shown here is Belia, a characteristic design for a single bed luminaire that balances function and emotion. 

The design incorporates innovative lighting principles and possibilities to balance and control direct and indirect lighting. The integrated, wing-like form with gentle curves provides a pleasant canopy of ideal lighting conditions to promote patient well-being and support the tasks of care personnel. 

Joanna’s contribution included exploration of lighting scenarios for diverse-situations involving patients, medical care professionals and visitors, as well as idea generation and design refinement.
