Textile-based products from concept to production

Softgoods Design & Development

Products where textiles, structure and engineering come together

Soft goods require
a different way of
thinking.

We design and develop soft goods and textile-based products from first concept to production.

Unlike rigid products, their shape and function depend on how flexible materials are cut, joined, tensioned and supported.

Our approach combines industrial design, material knowledge and engineering. We develop textiles, flexible materials and rigid components as one coherent product system.

From foldable bags and garment solutions to 3D knitted products and textile components, we design and develop both the physical product and the way it is made.

Form takes shape
through making.

Soft goods are difficult to design on screen alone. Material behaviour, patterns, seams, folds and tolerances become clear when a prototype is cut, assembled, handled and tested.

Physical prototyping is therefore central to our soft goods development process. We refine construction, materials and details through making, testing and iteration as the product takes shape.

Soft meets hard

Many soft goods depend on the way textiles connect to rigid components such as clips, frames, fasteners or housings.

These interfaces influence handling, durability, assembly and appearance. This is often where tolerances, wear, movement and user interaction come together.

We develop the textile, hardware and connection details together so the product works as one system.

From prototype
to production

Soft goods development is highly iterative.

Patterns are adjusted, materials tested and details refined through physical prototypes. Each iteration helps us understand how material, construction and form behave together.

We work closely with manufacturers and specialist suppliers to translate these developments into reliable production solutions.
